The Fragrance

Inspirés par le monde des fleurs, Jihan By Kajal, Joorie By Kajal, Wardé By Kajal et Yasmina By Kajal représentent une collection de nature florale. Jihan, the Arabic name given to the crocus flower plant, is symbolic of cheerfulness, gladness and glee. The flower appears at the first sign of spring. Jihan, the flower can be found in different colours, white, purple and yellow. The purple Jihan reflects pride, dignity and success. "When we were creating our signature Jihan fragrance – working with Drom’s perfumer, Valerie Garnuch-Mentzel – I was taken back to my early days admiring the cooking skills of my mother in the kitchen. I especially remember the cabinet that used to house the little sacred jar of saffron… I always used to feel as if the jar contained a sprinkle of magic – a pretty little pot that housed the rich red threads. I would watch with awe as my mother would infuse the aromatic rose water with saffron, and I would sit amazed as the saffron steeped and the water became a dynamic reddish/yellow hue." Valérie Garnuch-Mentzel began her career with Drom Fragrances in 1992. Initially working in quality control, she soon developed a real passion for fine fragrances. Her love of fragrances led her to explore the different facets of this field, from fine fragrances to personal care.

Her career at Drom took her to offices in Paris, Munich and New York, where she honed her craft and broadened her horizons. Today, she is head perfumer and one of the most important noses at Drom Fragrances' Munich headquarters.
