The Fragrance

You enter this fragrance as a mysterious heroine enters the forest. An aperture in the woods, a hypnotic clarity that beckons curiosity: bergamot and ginger illuminate the way. The scent then progresses to the Sequoia accord, Nonir tea, incense and Jatamansi (Himalayan spikenard). The final enchantment: styrax, leather and patchouli.

The Perfumer

Bertrand Duchaufour is a French perfumer born in 1961. He discovered perfume as a teenager with Chanel's n°19, an elegant green chypre. He became fascinated by scents and decided to become a perfumer. 

Bertrand Duchaufour is a keen traveller, who loves to immerse himself in the cultures, landscapes, colours and scents of the countries he visits. 

His creations are often marked by the use of incense, a material he is particularly fond of, and which he knows how to work with finesse and elegance. He is also adept at contrasts, paradoxes and unexpected associations, which give his fragrances remarkable richness and complexity.

In 2017, he was awarded the prize for Perfumer of the Year by the Russian FiFi Awards, a recognition of his exceptional career and his contribution to the art of perfumery.

    “Woody Mood is a woody fragrance lover’s dream. It's dark and warm incensy fragrance that smells like smoked wooden chips. Its dark and complex with a touch of sweetness. I get some ginger in the opening that adds a tad bit of zing on top. Overall, Woody mood is woody balsamic fragrance blended to perfection. A perfect all year fragrance but especially does wonders in autumn and winter.”
