Headspace captures impressions, fleeting moments revisited by the imagination, and restores them using exceptional natural raw materials processed in overdose and carefully selected 'headspace' extracts to create unique fragrances, paving the way for poetic haute parfumerie that restores the uncapturable.

The Story

Reinventing life as we know it by capturing the smells that surround us. This is the crazy idea behind this analysis technology invented by Swiss chemist Roman Kaiser and introduced to the perfume industry in the 1970s.

The main contribution of headspace is to have made new smells available to perfumers, not only those of so-called "mute" flowers (whose scent could not be obtained using traditional extraction techniques), but also more unexpected and poetic ones: a fruit, a vegetable, a stone, a place, an environment, the ultra-pure air of Iceland or the smell of a rose grown in space.

The field of possibilities is infinite, and the perfumer-demiurge can dream that the whole world might one day be put into scents, and soon into perfume.

The Founder

Nicolas Chabot is all about intuition, curiosity and taking the high road. A perfume connoisseur and entrepreneur, he has revived the house of Le Galion since 2014 and created Æther in 2016, a conceptual brand that raises his love of raw materials to the highest level, whether they come from nature or chemistry, without distinction or hierarchy.

You might have guessed it: for him, the dreamer and the researcher are organically linked. He admires the ability of fragrances to capture what surrounds us. With Headspace, he has achieved the perfect synthesis of two worlds: science and poetry.


What’s New

The Object.

The Headspace bottle, designed by Jules Dinand, is a life-size replica of the countless vials that litter a perfumer's desk. Sleek and functional, it is dressed in a minimalist paper label, a blank canvas on which to project your imagination. A luxurious black bakelite cover completes the modern silhouette of this object.
