A Child Fascinated by Scents

Gabriel Gabor was born in Budapest, Hungary. From an early age, he was fascinated by smells and fragrances. He loved picking leaves and flower petals to smell them, and developed an exceptional olfactory memory. He began to dream of becoming a perfumer, a profession he considered as rare and prestigious as that of astronaut.

Training to become a perfumer in France

To make his dream come true, Gabriel Gabor left his native country at the age of 18 to study chemistry in Paris. He became passionately interested in the science of aromas and fragrances, and decided to continue his training in Grasse, the perfume capital of the world. He joined the prestigious Institut de Parfumerie, where he learned the techniques of perfume creation and composition. His talent and originality set him apart, and he obtained his diploma as a certified perfumer in 2000.

Birth of a Parfumeur

In 2014, during the prestigious Christian Dior perfumer program in Grasse, Gabriel Gabor successfully met the challenge of creating a new women's fragrance from the House's marketing briefs. In 2016, his collection of oud-based fragrances was presented at Beauty World Middle-East in Dubai. Then came the moment when his modern sandalwood fragrance, Darling de Gabor, was selected as one of the top ten creations at the World Perfumery Congress in Miami.

In 2019 , he decided to launch his own niche fragrance brand, DE GABOR. He creates highly exacting fragrances that reflect his personality and history. He uses high-quality ingredients, often rare and precious, and takes great care over the design of his bottles, which are presented in superb boxes. His fragrances are enjoying growing success.
