Amélie Bourgeois and Anne-Sophie Behaghel are two French perfumers who work together at Flair studio, an independent and innovative place of creation, which they founded in 2012. Amélie Bourgeois was born in 1981 in the Landes, a region in the south-west of France, where she grew up surrounded by the smells of nature, such as pine needles, heather or wheat fields. Passionate about horse riding, she followed a sports-studies curriculum before reorienting herself towards aesthetics and cosmetology. It was on this occasion that she discovered perfume, by offering her father Déclaration by Cartier, a fragrance that marked her by its originality and complexity. She then decided to dedicate herself to this field, by joining the perfume school Cinquième Sens, where she met Monique Schlienger, a great lady of the profession who passed on her know-how and passion. For three years, she learned the secrets of olfactory creation, exploring the different families, raw materials, accords and composition techniques. She also developed her own style, based on sensitivity, emotion and imagination. She created her first perfume, Rouge Assassin, for the brand Jovoy, in 2009, inspired by the 1920s and the dancers of the French Cancan. This perfume earned her a nomination at the Fifi Awards, the Oscars of perfume, in the category Best Niche Perfume.

In 2012, she founded with Martine Denisot the studio Flair, an independent and innovative place of creation, which offers tailor-made services to niche brands, designers, artists or individuals. She was joined six months later by Anne-Sophie Behaghel, with whom she forms a complicit and complementary duo. Together, they have created many original and daring creations, using quality raw materials, natural or synthetic, and drawing inspiration from their travels, their readings, their memories or their dreams. Among her creations, we can mention Mimosa Supercritique by Eaux Primordiales, a tribute to this sunny and delicate flower, or Atheroxyde by Aether, a futuristic and metallic fragrance.

Amélie Bourgeois is a talented and discreet perfumer, who likes to tell stories through her creations. She has a predilection for warm, woody and spicy notes, such as immortelle, cypriol or cashmeran, which she often combines with fresher, floral or fruity notes, to create contrasts and surprises. She is a member of the Cercle des Parfumeurs Créateurs, an association that brings together perfume professionals who share the same values of creativity, quality and respect. She received the François Coty prize in 2018, a prestigious distinction that rewards the excellence and originality of a perfumer.

Anne-Sophie Behaghel was born in 1978 in Paris, where she studied chemistry at the Pierre and Marie Curie University. She then oriented herself towards perfumery, by following a training at Cinquième Sens, where she met Monique Schlienger, an experienced perfumer who taught her the basics of olfactory creation and who encouraged her to develop her talent and personality. She started her career at Firmenich, one of the world leaders in flavors and fragrances, where she worked for seven years, collaborating with prestigious brands such as Dior, Chanel or Givenchy. She then joined Symrise, another giant of the industry, where she continued to create fragrances for renowned clients, but also for more confidential or alternative brands.

In 2012, she decided to leave the world of large groups to join the studio Flair, founded by Amélie Bourgeois, her friend and former classmate at Cinquième Sens. Together, they created a space of freedom and innovation, where they offer tailor-made services to niche brands, designers, artists or individuals. They were joined by Camille Chemardin, a young perfumer who shares their vision and passion. Among her creations, we can mention L’Air de Rien by Miller Harris, a perfume inspired by Jane Birkin, which mixes notes of musk, vanilla and hay, L’Homme Prada by Prada, an elegant and modern perfume, which combines notes of neroli, iris and sandalwood, or L’Heure Bleue by Guerlain, a reinterpretation of the classic of 1912, which enhances the notes of orange blossom, rose and vanilla.

Anne-Sophie Behaghel is a creative and refined perfumer, who likes to play with contrasts and emotions. She has a predilection for floral notes, such as jasmine, rose or lily of the valley, which she often combines with more woody, spicy or amber notes, to create effects of surprise and seduction. She is a member of the Cercle des Parfumeurs Créateurs, an association that brings together perfume professionals who share the same values of creativity, quality and respect. She received the International Fragrance Prize in 2016, a reward that distinguishes the best olfactory creations of the year.
