Born and bred in Ireland, Meabh Mc Curtin grew up in a region where nature tells its own poem. The mists, moors and woody scents have shaped her imagination since childhood. After studying biochemistry at the National University of Ireland in Galway, she went on to study at the École Normale Supérieure in Lyon, where she honed her love of molecules and the science of scent. But it was in Grasse, Paris, Geneva and Amsterdam that she immersed herself in the art of perfume, working with masters such as Dominique Ropion at IFF, one of the most respected names in contemporary perfumery.

 

A signature blend of perfumery and poetry

Meabh is an artist who combines innovative techniques with a deep poetic sensibility. Her creations include iconic fragrances such as Róisín Dubh, developed for Cloon Keen, which won the Best New Independent Fragrance award in 2019. This fragrance captures the duality between dark sensuality and airy lightness, embodying the essence of black rose and Irish mysticism.

Its method is distinguished by the use of sophisticated craft techniques and a bold exploration of materials. For Eau d'Amsterdam, for example, she collaborated on a project using an analysis of elm leaves in the heart of the Dutch capital, transforming an urban element into a scent like no other.

 

A sparkling creation available at SCENTISSIME

As you'll have gathered from the previous lines, each of Meabh Mc Curtin's fragrances is a multi-sensory experience. At SCENTISSIME, you'll discover 14 Juillet, which she created for BASTILLE PARFUMS and which captures the festive spirit of a shared celebration, by creating an original ‘fireworks’ accord.
